Chevron Twist Quilt Finished

 



I just finished my Chevron Twist Quilt.......about time.  I wanted to be done with it, but my sewing time has been  limited for the last few months.

Acabo de terminar mi "Chevron Twist Quilt"...............ya era tiempo. Lo quería terminar pero mi tiempo para coser ha sido limitado en los últimos meses.

 

 

 

This quilt stared as a scrappy one, with small triangles made from left over fabric from a hexagon quilt, but as put them together other ideas stared to flow. I ended up buying fabric to complete a fun and happy color palette.

Este quilt o colcha comenzó como una pieza de pedazos sobrantes, pero a medida que comencé a coserlo fueron surgiendo nuevas ideas.  Termin comprando tela para completar una paleta de colores alegres para la colcha.

 

Gray, green, blue and orange chevron or ric rac shapes are against a white background. The back of this quilt is a white and gray small chevron print. The quilting was done with large stitches using white embroidery floss. It was a fun project and I hope it will inspire you.

Formas tipo "chevron" de color gris, verde, azul y gris realzan sobre el fondo blanco. La parte de atrás es con un estampado moderno de tela "chevron", también llamado cabrio, cheurón o chevron, de color gris y blanco de tamaño pequeño.  El acolchado o "quilting" fue con hilo de bordar blanco usando puntadas de gran tamaño. Fue un proyecto muy divertido y espero que te sirva de inspiración.

 

The size of this quilt is 38 1/2 X 43 inches.

Nursing Covers

 

 

Hi!  Today I would like to show you my nursing covers. I make two different kinds: a simple square style and an ergonomic, with more coverage.  They both offer privacy for the lactating mothers, and they both include the peek-a-boo neck collar which allows eye contact with your baby.

Hola!  Hoy les quiero mostrar mis cubiertas de lactancia.  Confecciono dos tipos: el simple cuadrado y el ergonómico que ofrece una mayor cubierta. Ambos ofrecen privacidad para las mamas en lactancia y ambos poseen el collar "peek-a-boo" que permite tener un contacto visual con el bebe en todo momento.



If you are planning on make one of these make sure you use a breathable soft quality 100 % cotton fabric.  They make breastfeeding a breeze.

 Si vas a hacer uno de estos asegúrate de usar material algodón de buena calidad que permita bien el respirar.  Estos cubiertas hacen la lactancia muy fácil.

The Wedding - Part I

Sachets for Mother's Day

Hi! I have been very busy for the last few weeks, and will still be for the next few.  I will be doing the decor for a wedding and the theme will be romantic vintage.  The wedding is in two weeks, so I am in the final set up phase, making sure I have everything I need.  It is going to be beautiful and I promise to post some pictures.

¡Hola! Me he mantenido sumamente ocupada en las últimas semanas y aún lo voy a estar en las próximas.  Se debe a la decoración de una boda la cual va a tener el tema de romántica “vintage”.  La boda será en dos semanas, así que estoy en la fase final de la preparatoria, asegurando tener todo lo que necesito para el evento.  Va a ser muy bonita y les prometo fotos.

Something else that kept me busy was the visit of my son who spent almost two weeks at home. I barely had time to sew or do anything else.  Now that he left, I am going to finish some projects that are half way done.  But before I do, let me show you some more sachets.

Otro asunto en lo que he estado ocupando mi tiempo lo fue la visita de mi hijo quien vino a pasar en casa unas semanas.  Apenas tenía tiempo de coser o hacer alguna manualidad.  Ya que él se fue, terminaré algunos proyectos que tenia a medias.  Pero antes de comenzar, les quiero enseñar otros saches que tenia terminados y no había compartido.

I prepared a few sets of large sachets.  These ones are large enough to cover your forehead since they measure 3” x 5 1/2”. Read my post on the benefits of lavender here.

Vintage Fabric Mini Sachets

Continuing with the theme of lavender sachets, I wanted to show you some images of a special order from several weeks ago. My client wanted a mini version of the vintage fabric crochet edge sachets I have in my Etsy shop. I immediately searched for the fabric in my stash and began the creation of these cute minis.

Continuando con el tema de los saches de lavanda, quería mostrarles algunas imágenes de una orden especial de hace algunas semanas atrás.  Mi cliente quería una versión pequeña de unos  saches que tengo en mi tiendita de Etsy.  Inmediatamente busque la tela entre mi colección y comencé la creación de estos pequeños saches tan adorables.

The vintage fabric, from the mid to late 80's, is a 100% cotton beige background with guava and green floral. I am glad I bought a half yard of this timeless print back then, and I still have some left, about the size of a fat quarter for another small project.

La tela “vintage”, de la época de los mediano a tarde años 80’, de 100% algodón, tiene fondo color crema y detalles florales de tonos guayaba y verde.  Me alegra haber comprado en aquel entonces media yarda de este estampado que parece trascender el tiempo, y de que me quede aún algo de esta tela para completar algún otro proyecto de escala pequeña.

I enjoy making these minis sachets. Mission accomplished.
